Autumn's nearly over. The leaves squished gently beneath my tyres. Summer cyclists have nearly all gone back to their warm and cosy houses, like the leaves from the trees, they too have fallen from their roads. A few of us still tootle around the lanes and highways, wondering where we hid the thermal vest last year and wishing that we'd worn a warmer hat. Still, all's good, the cogs keep turning and the wheels keep rolling.

What is it with people on racing bikes? They rarely even acknowledge your existence. A cheery nod or a "morning" would be so polite, but of course, they are the superior breed! Middle-aged, helmeted, overweight , dressed in blue and white lycra from shoulder to knee........
In th'olden days cyclists would always "let on" to other cyclists. Alas those days are gone.
Well done "The Gentleman" - at least he's got manners - as well as talent!
